PRAY – The only way to a deep and genuine knowledge of God’s true being. Prayer helps us know the truth about His Word, and makes our spirit sensitive towards God when we talk to Him. Prayer makes us sure that indeed we are being led by the Spirit.
“And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the Lord’s people” – Ephesians 6:18
“I pray that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened in order that you may know the hope to which he has called you, the riches of his glorious inheritance in his holy people,” – Ephesians 1:18
ASK – Talk to God directly! Ask Him what He wants you to know and learn. Incline your ears to Him and open your heart to whatever you believe He’s telling you.
“This is the confidence we have in approaching God: that if we ask anything according to his will, he hears us. And if we know that he hears us—whatever we ask—we know that we have what we asked of him” – 1John 5:14-15
” ‘Call to me and I will answer you and tell you great and unsearchable things you do not know.’ ” – Jeremiah 33:3
READ and REFLECT – God’s Word is God Himself. If you are really serious in knowing. Him, you must learn to read and meditate the Scripture day and night.
“In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.” – John 1:1
“This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do according to all that is written in it. For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success.” – Joshua 1:8
RESPOND – Having something to take home is important but to live out what you’ve uncovered is another thing. What you’ve learned and realized about God, make sure that you’ll look for ways to apply it in your life.
Knowing without application is just a mere head knowledge; knowledge applied is wisdom.
“What you have learned and received and heard and seen in me—practice these things, and the God of peace will be with you.” – Philippians 4:9
“Do your best to present yourself to God as one approved, a worker who has no need to be ashamed, rightly handling the word of truth.” – 2 Timothy 2:15
